EMBEDDED SYSTEMS CONFERENCE, SAN FRANCISCO, March 12
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Providing further support for the highest
performance open architecture digital signal processor (DSP) core available
today, LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE: LSI - news) introduced version 4.0 of its ZSP(TM)
Software Developer's Kit (SDK) today at the Embedded Systems Conference. In
addition to providing support for the company's popular ZSP400 core and
standard products, SDK 4.0 provides seamless support for the new ZSP G2
architecture and includes significant improvements in the user interface,
performance and integration. The enhanced tool kit includes an intuitive
graphical user interface, an integrated development environment, improved
debug capabilities/performance and improved compiler optimizations allowing
for quicker time-to-market with rapid integration of the ZSP open architecture
in high-performance DSP applications."Our market strategy is to offer world-class tools for our leading open
architecture ZSP technology and the release of SDK 4.0 supports this

ability to develop, profile, analyze and debug their code efficiently through
a brand new graphical user interface. The integrated development environment
(IDE) provides a built-in editor, file/project browser, build utility and
on-line help. The SDK 4.0 supports four different targets including
cycle-accurate simulator, functional-accurate simulator, JTAG-based hardware
target and UART-based hardware target.
A new parallel debug manager supports
debugging multiple projects on multiple targets simultaneously.
Software
engineers realize productivity improvements and cost savings benefits from the
new user interface and improved automation and performance.
The ZSP SDK 4.0 is available for Windows® 95/98/NT/2000/XP and Solaris
platforms.
It is priced at $995 for a single-user license and is available
from LSI Logic authorized distributors.
LSI Logic's ZSP superscalar signal processing technology provides the
highest performance open architecture DSP cores available today.
These
licensable and fully synthesizable cores have proven themselves in ASICs and
standard products alike.
The ZSP architecture -- now in its second generation
-- has been optimized with respect to code density, compiler performance and
ease of programming.
It is supported by a growing list of software Solution
Partners.
